Just the other day I went with my shih tzus to the veteran for a parvo vaccination. George, is just over 2 and a healthy 17 pounds. Eve, just under two, had finally reached a good weight of 17 pounds. The two of them are most happy when they are visiting their friendly vet down the road, I think it is an attention thing. Eve insisted on entering first by provoking such a protest, George followed with his tail between his legs.

George was the first in and barked on his way out after the vet took a look at him, he was the most happy dog in the world. Then it all went horribly wrong Eve started to throw up all the ingredients in her tummy. Our shih tzu laid down and wouldn't move. We waited there to see if she would arise and be alright. Eve was in a horrible condition and didnt know what to do, it was like looking at an elephant being shot and losing control of its legs slowly but surely.

When the veterinary doctor saw what was going on he rushed to his cabinet to get some steroids for our shitzu. We waited to see if this would work against the vaccine. The rate of her breathing was hit and miss sometimes it was fast sometimes it was slow. We rushed her to a specialty infirmary where she was admitted in serious condition There was only so much John could do so we took her to a special hospital for pets. That afternoon and night was touch and go.

The dog clinic took very good care of her and made sure she got her intravenous drip and oxygen as well. No one thought our shih tzu dog would be with us much longer. Tender loving care with the hospital drugs were her stable diet for four days whilst there.Basically she went into shock after being given her remedy by John, it wasnt his mistake as he could never have known this was going to take place. The good news is that she is making great paces forward in her recuperation.

Eating a little at a time, drinking, but resting a lot. There is little doubt in my mind that she will be A ok in a month or two. It is incredible how much I now know about these injections that are given to dogs, I spend a huge amount of time searching the on the internet.

Certain kinds of drugs make this shih tsu breed more likely to react and thats what took place with Eve.For the last few weeks I have been crusading to get full "full disclosure".It really cost us a lot of bucks we could ill afford to spend however we would do anything for our dog.I dont suggest anybody goes through this like we had to.
